Reading the Bible with Humility, Not an Agenda

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16

It’s easy to grab a verse and try to make it say what we want it to say—especially when emotions are high or culture is loud. But the Bible was never meant to be used to win arguments or prove a point. Scripture is God’s Word, breathed out to reveal who He is, not to prop up our opinions. When we read it in context and with humility, it shifts us from asking, “How does this work for me?” to “What does this show me about God?” And that’s where real freedom starts.

God’s Word is meant to heal, not harm. Yes, it convicts and corrects, but always with love and purpose. When we slow down, read the whole story, and invite the Holy Spirit to guide us, Scripture becomes a tool for transformation—not a weapon. So before sharing a verse or applying one to your life, pause and ask: Is this drawing me—and others—closer to Jesus? That question alone can change everything.
